This new feature of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform's web-site is the inclusion of information regarding recent Decisions in relation to Visa applications. The information provided will be updated on a weekly basis, on Mondays, and will include the Reference number, the decision, and a code containing the reasons for the decision in the case of rejection. A guide to the codes is also being provided. The Department of Justice inform me that they have checked the position regarding Data Protection issues and are satisfied that, as only the Reference number will appear on the web-site, there is no difficulty in this regard. This initiative should assist both applicants and missions in relation to the appeals process and Missions are therefore encouraged to inform Visa applicants of this new means of obtaining information regarding their applications."

Please note this site will only contain status for cases referred to Department of Justice, Equality & Law Reform, Dublin & can only be checked through Embassy Reference number & not from the VFS reference number.
